Sometimes, a girl just needs to get away with her besties. Forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life, ditch the responsibilities (momentarily), and trade in your usual routine for some good old fashioned fun. That’s exactly what my besties and I did on our recent girls’ trip to Fredericksburg, Texas, nestled amidst the rolling hills and vineyards of the Texas Hill Country.
One of my closest friends wanted to celebrate her birthday in Fredericksburg, TX. She had never been before (I have) and I’m so glad she chose this destination. It’s such a fun, lighthearted and cute little town filled with cute restaurants, and you guessed it, LOTS of wine!!

Wine Down and Sip the Scenery
Fredericksburg is widely known for being wine country. I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing Fredericksburg twice. The first time I went, we booked one of those buses that will drop you off and pick you up at various wineries. I think this is a great option if you want to make this a full day thing and really immerse yourself in wine country. There are quite a few options to choose from that you can look at here. This is also a great idea because you park you car, ride, and day drink all day from winery to winery.
I loved this option because we got the opportunity to see and experience Texas Hill Country, try different wines, and casually day drink without being judged. I will say, drink responsibly and pace yourself because when you drink really good wine, it can get you tipsy quite quickly.
The most recent time I went, we opted for a self-guided wine tour, allowing us to set our own pace and explore the charming wineries that dotted downtown, and I’m so glad we did. Sipping on crisp whites and bold reds while exploring the charming downtown areas was the best decision. All of the wineries that were in the downtown area were amazing, and had light bites to snack on. There were also several restaurants along Main Street to pop into to get a bite to eat.
Beyond the Vineyard: Fredericksburg’s Hidden Gems
While wine tasting was a major highlight, Fredericksburg offered so much more. We spent an afternoon wandering along Main Street, popping in and out of cute boutiques filled with unique finds and locally-made crafts. No girls’ trip is complete without a little retail therapy, right? All of us picked up something to take back as a souvenir.
Foodie Fun and Fredericksburg Festivities
Of course, no trip is complete without indulging in delicious food. Fredericksburg’s culinary scene was actually pretty good. They have a variety of options available to try. There’s sure to be something for everyone. Here are the places we ate at that I highly recommend:
The other thing we did that we absolutely loved was a wine tour with Brooks Bubble Bar, which was a lot of fun. The tour took us to 3 different stops where we karoake’d, drank fun sips, and danced all night. The tour took place on a pink decked out bus that you could hook up your aux cord to. Of course my friends and I took over the aux and it was an automatic party. Brooks Bubble Bar tour and Bar is a must see if you’re in town and have town, click here to check it out.

I will add that there aren’t really any good hotels options to stay in or that I would recommend. Everyone rents an Air Bnb to stay in while visiting.
Memories Made, and Bottles (Maybe) Emptied
By the end of our girls’ trip, we were relaxed, rejuvenated, and brimming with laughter-filled memories. Fredericksburg offered the perfect blend of outdoor adventure, charming small-town vibes, and of course, exceptional wine. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur, a history buff, or simply seeking a relaxing escape with your best girlfriends, Fredericksburg has something to offer everyone. So grab your girls, pack your bags, and get ready for a Texas Hill Country winecation you won’t soon forget!
